Review on Fabindia Aloe Cucumber Gel Face Pack

Hi lovelies!

How are you all doing? Have you started taking any precautions for the scorching heat of summer? Here in Kolkata it’s very hot and humid and I have started taking more and more water and wearing sunscreen. Keeping sunglasses and umbrella is a must have when I go outside. Though all these essentials are very necessary but there is an another must-have that I added to my life. Today I am going to talk about that essential product from fabindia, aloe cucumber gel pack which I am using for last 3 weeks (thrice in a week).

Let’s see how it worked for me.

What the product says:

Fabindia Aloe Cucumber Gel Pack helps to sooth and cools the face. Fabindia Aloe Cucumber Gel Pack is a perfect blend of Aloe Vera and Cucumber. Aloe Vera is infused with Vitamin E, moisturises the skin and reduces pimples and acne and Cumber acts as a cooling agent which helps to refresh and hydrate the skin
·         Fabindia Aloe Cucumber Gel Pack is an easy to use pack which leaves your skin glowing.
·         Refreshes the face.
·         Gives a natural glow.
·         Easy to use.

Ingredients list:

Purified Water, Propylene Glycol, Carbopol 940, Sodium Hydroxide, Glycerine, Lactic Acid, Propyl Paraben, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Aloe Vera Extract, Cucumber Extract, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA, Methyl Paraben.

350(INR) for 100ml

You can get it from any fabindia store or from online click here

My take on the product:

The product comes in a traditional tub hard plastic packaging, which consist of a screw cap on the top. There is a white lid inside the screw cap; it helps to secure the gel inside without leaking it. I found it very travel friendly and easy to handle. The product texture is very light, pure gel based aqua, blue colored which is neither thick nor too runny and has perfect consistency, hence very easy to apply without any hassle. I love its soothing aroma, exactly like fresh smashed cucumber. Whenever I open the tub, I get a relaxed feeling and after applying, I feel totally refreshed and my skin feels super fresh and relaxed. I use this pack thrice in a week. I wash my face before applying it and take a generous amount of the gel to apply all over my face and neck. I leave it for 10 to 15 minutes for dry. After washing, I feel my skin very refreshed smooth and glowy. Though the glow does not last long. I have tried using it after coming back from scorching heat and it instantly gives me a fresh and relaxed skin. Though you cannot expect any magical change in your skin but it should be a must have for the summer season if you really want the instant freshness in your skin.

·         Soothing and refreshing smell
·         Light texture gel which can be applied very easy without any hassle
·         Small amount is needed for each application so a single tub can last very long
·         Brings instant healthy glow
·         Sooth skin from heat and keeps skin firmed
·         Not tested on animals

·         Sadly it contains parabens

Overall this gel pack is affordable, light consistency gel which can bring healthy glow making your skin refreshed and smooth. It really works well when you are back from hot and humid weather. After applying this pack your skin is instantly soothen and you can feel totally relaxed and refreshed. For me this gel pack is a must have for the summer time. So ladies if this summer heat is already bothering you too much then grab this handy gel pack and experience the soothing relaxed effect on your skin.

4/5(1 is deducted for containing parabens)

That’s all for today my darlings!

Colourpop Lippie Stix in shade ‘I heart This’,Review, Swatches

Hi beauties!

Hope you all are doing well. Sorry for being MIA for last one week. I was on a week-long vacation with my family on a visit to Darjeeling. It was a wonderful trip and we had a great time and the weather was like a dream. I will upload my trip photos very soon.
Now coming to the review. I have already reviewed the Colopop liquid lipsticks earlier, and today I am here with another popular range ‘Colourpop Lippie Stix’, such a cute name right? I have got myself the shade ‘ I heart this’ and it’s a beautiful Red based fuchsia shade which can be suitable for almost every Indian skin-tone.

So let’s start with the review.

What the product says:
Every Lippie Stix has a matching Lippie Pencil that was designed to match its partner perfectly. However, we’re not trying to be a bossy pants and tell you creative lovelies what to do. So, if you want to create an Ombre lip look or something, have fun mixing and matching & do your thang! Matte finish full coverage, super long wearing, ultra-comfortable & seriously loaded with pigment in a matte finish.

$5(USD) for 1gm but I got it on 680(INR) from the Instagram Store click here

These lippie stix are intensely pigmented and absolutely long wearing. Just two three swipes needed to get the full coverage.

Staying Power:

Great Staying power I must say. Can be worn for up to 5 to 6 hours with very little fading.

My take on the product:

I love its cute packaging, which comes in a white solid plastic tube. The lipstick tube is further covered with white slim paper box with holographic letter ‘LIPPIE STIX’. The shade name is written on the bottom of the paper box. The tube has a white cap and you have to give little pressure to open it. I love how the lippie stix is edgy looking and for that reason it is very easy on each application. These lippie stix are very smooth and creamy in texture, feels very light on lips almost feels like you haven’t worn anything. These lippie stix give a total matte finish look, may be for that reason I felt a little drying effect after 2 to 3 hours of applying.  I would suggest you guys, if you really have serious dry lips and want to give it a try; you must scrub your lips very well and put a lip balm underneath.  Otherwise for dry lips it tends to get settle into your lip lines and emphasize it.  It has intense pigmentation I must say, just two swipes needed for opaque application. I found it really long wearing which stands up to 5 to 6 hours with very little fading. Even with meals and drinks the fading is almost unnoticeable. The shade ‘ I heart this’ is a beautiful red based fuchsia which can be suitable for almost every Indian skin tones. I would love to try more shades form this range.

·         Lipsticks are very creamy and smooth in texture
·         Colorpop has some really amazing shades in this range
·         Great Pigmentation
·         Long wearing
·         Feels very light on lips
·         Beautiful matte finish look
·         Easy to apply on lips
·         Very little fading with meals and drinks
·         Cruelty- free
·         Light sweet vanilla scent

·         Little flakiness after some hours of application
·         Lip balm is needed for extremely dry lips
·         Can emphasize lip lines for dry lips
·         Availability issue

Overall these lippie stix are great matte finish light weighted lipsticks which is long wearing and intensely pigmented. I am impressed with its soft creamy formula and luxe quality. They really have some wide range of beautiful vibrant shades which can be worn on both day and night time and can be suitable for almost every Indian skin tones. I would love to try other shades from this range.
So my matte lover ladies, why you are waiting for? Go grab it and give this beauty a try!

Review on Coastal Scents Smokey Eyeshadow Palette

Hi lovelies!!

Hope you all are doing well. Today I am going to talk about a palette from Coastal Scents, Smokey eyeshadow palette. I have only two or three palettes as I am not much into applying eyeshadows, I prefer them to wear them only on select occasions. I was eyeing to this palette for long as I wanted to learn Smokey eyes, I thought of starting with this eyeshadow palette as it has varieties of shades in pinks, blues etc.

So let’s start with the review now.

What the product says:

Coastal Scents exclusive Smoky Palette is perfect for creating a dynamic array of unique, colorful smoky eye looks. This palette, containing 36 highly-pigmented shades, is unique in that it comes grouped into six divisible color spectrums, each with six complementary shades.  Golden oranges, rich browns, and a neutral highlight to create a more natural smoky eye look.  Shades of vibrant green, lemon yellow, and deep chocolate brown for an earthier-look.  Pastel lavender to deep plums for a sultry violet-look. Shimmery silvers, matte black, and a sheer highlighter for a more common smoky eye.  Lively blues and aqua for an edgier-look.  Vivid pinks, iridescent highlighters, and a matte black shade with red sparkles for a vibrant smoky eye effect.

Talc, Mica, Mineral Oil, Kaolin, Phenyl Trimethicone, Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Lanolin, Mica and Titanium Dioxide, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, BHT. May Contain: Iron Oxides, Ultramarine Blue, Manganese Violet, Chrome Oxide Green, Chrome Hydroxide Green, FD&C Red No.40 Al Lake, FD&C Yellow No.5 Al Lake, FD&C Blue No.1 Al Lake.

$19.95 for 36.0g, I got it on 1500(INR) from the Instagram store

The shimmery and satin shades are more pigmented than the matte ones. But overall the palette is decently pigmented and gives the best effect when used with a primer.

My take on the product:

The palette comes in a black sturdy and sleek packaging, which contains total of 36 shimmery, satin and matte eyeshadows but without a brush. The plastic black casing is really solid and each pan is pretty generous which will last long for me. It is really a unique concept, where it comes grouped into six color-combo spectrums by which we can create so many different Smokey looks. There are neutrals, blues, greens, pinks and etc. I think this palette would be very helpful to me in starting and playing with different colors. Each set of six shades contains everything from matte, satin and shimmer which is great for newbies in eyeshadow like me who always find difficulty in creating a flawless Smokey eye makeup look, so definitely a good option for a learner. You can combine other shades too and do a mix and match of shades creating more options in Smokey looks. I find some matte shades are not that pigmented; and need more layering for getting the intense finish. But most of the shimmery and satin shades have a good color payoff! I think you need to apply a primer or a base to achieve the desired pigmentation. I find the eyeshadows can stand up to 5 to 5 hours in my oily lids and it can go better with primer. I haven’t felt much creasing or smudging effect even without primer which is really great! Right now I am in testing mode with this eyeshadow palette and trying to create some looks using this. I will come up with some vibrant Smokey looks very soon till then how about this eyelook which I have created combining some of the shades together click here (Note: I haven’t used any primer)

Set 1. Golden oranges, rich browns, and a neutral highlight to create a more natural smoky eye look
Set 2. Shades of vibrant green, lemon yellow, and deep chocolate brown for an earthier-look.
Set 3. Pastel lavender to deep plums for a sultry violet-look.
Set 4. Shimmery silvers, matte black, and a sheer highlighter for a more common smoky eye.
Set 5. Lively blues and aqua for an edgier-look.
Set 6. Vivid pinks, iridescent highlighters, and a matte black shade with red sparkles for a vibrant smoky eye effect.

1st two rows swatches:

2 Middle rows swatches:

2 bottom rows swatches:

·         Great shade variations
·         Shimmery and satin shades are having really good pigmentation
·         Staying power is pretty decent
·         Each set of 6 shades are enough as each set contains shimmery, satin and matte which is everything to achieve a Smokey look.
·         Sturdy packaging

  • Little bit of fall outs
  • Some mattes could have been better in pigmentation wise.

Overall I am impressed with this palette, which is having variety of shades from pinks to blues, from greens to neutrals. It is really a good option for the newbies in eye makeup like me.  Like most other palettes it also has some hits and misses. The shimmery and satin shades are having intense pigmentation which is also bright while the matte ones are little difficult to work as they are not very soft and creamy as much as the shimmery and satin ones, though you can work with them with a primer or a base.

4/5(1 mark is deducted because of little bit of fall outs and some less pigmented shades)

That’s all for today my darlings.

Women’s Day Haul Post

Hi ladies,

How are you all my darlings? Do we need to find any particular reason for hauling? I guess not!-P . But today I have really a strong reason to do a haul post!!:-D . Last Tuesday i.e. on ‘Women’s Day’ I went little crazy to celebrate Our Day and ended up buying some makeup and skincare stuffs.

So let’s start with the hauling:

Kryolan :

This is the brand I was really waiting to try for soooo long and at last I got my hands on these stuffs. I would really like to thank Shampita  for giving me the information about a salon (Perfect 10 Nail Salon) in Kolkata, which stocks wide range of Kryolan products. The SA in the salon suggested me the TV Paint stick and Translucent power for the base makeup. I have used the TV paint stick once and I am already in love with the product. I wanted to try the derma color too, but the SA told me that it is not required as derma color is used for problematic skin type. She said that TV paint is enough to hide my little skin discolorations and I do agree that she was correct!! I got a contour brush too.

I went to Mac for retro liquid matte lipsticks but It was my bad luck, all their shades were out of stock. They told me to wait for another 3 months to get them. OMG!!! So I thought of getting a retro matte lipstick as I can’t go out empty handed from Mac. :-P so got the “All fired up” shade. It’s a unique pink shade which I liked a lot.

This is my first ever Clinique lipstick and got the Clinique pop lip colour + primer. So excited to try this lip color which is in shade 'poppy pop 06'.

After burning a hole in my pocket already I went to the Fabindia store. I had finished my passion flower body spray, so I restock it again. I love to use face masks so got the aloe & cucumber gel face pack for smoothing effect and relaxed fresh skin. Got an exfoliating and moisturizing almond oatmeal soap too.

The Body Shop:

I can’t ignore this brand ever in my life as it is my favorite one. I got the vitamin e face wash as I have finished the last one.

So that's all for today ladies!!
Hope you have enjoyed my haul post, would love to know your thoughts about the stuffs I got myself.

Review on Kama Ayurveda Rejuvenating and Brightening Ayurvedic Night Cream

Hello Lovelies!!

Hope you all are doing very well. Today I am going to review one of my favourite skincare products from Kama Ayurveda, Rejuvenating and Brightening Ayurvedic Night cream. I have been using this night cream since long and I am really very happy to see how it worked on my dry sensitive skin.

Now heading over to the detailed review.

What the product claims:

This incredible Rejuvenating & Brightening Ayurvedic Night cream is a special blend of precious and rare ingredients to help illuminate the skin colour and promote cell growth. The Ayurveda based formula is blended with the finest of Saffron from Kashmir to brighten your skin, reduce dark circles and pigmentation. Indian Madder and Aloe Vera has antiseptic properties which prevents fine lines and delays the process of ageing skin. Vetiver, and lotus cool and cleanse while helping clear blemishes. Liquorice, an antiseptic, protects against bacterial and fungal infections. A perfect leave in night treatment for youthful naturally radiant skin.

1650(INR) for 50gm

My Take on the product:

The product comes in a brown coloured glass tub packaging with a screw cap on the top which looks very classy and is further covered with a cardboard paper box with a very luxurious finish look. I feel the glass tub is quite heavy and not so travel friendly. I always use a wooden spatula to scoop out considering hygiene issue. The night cream is very thick in texture with a light yellow color. It has a very light ayurvedic fragrance. It feels really heavy on your skin so you may find it a little difficult to spread it evenly over your skin, for that reason I always splash Kama Ayurveda rose water to spread it all over my face.It gets absorbed easily with light hand massage and doesn’t feel greasy or sticky at all. It claims to be suitable for all skin types so oily skinned beauties can also use this night cream as it doesn’t leave any oily residue on your face.  It gives ample moisture to my skin, keeping it hydrated for all day long and never breaks out. Last year during my Uttarakhand trip, I had tanned a lot and this night cream helped me regain my natural lightened skin, by completely removing my tan mainly from my forehead area. I don’t have wrinkle on my skin yet, so I can’t comment on that part but overall it helped to improve my skin texture a lot. It noticeably brightened up my skin and makes my skin look very nourished and plump.

·         Does almost everything what it claims.
·         It helps to lighten up skin, completely removing the tan
·         It helps to improve the skin texture
·         Moisturizes skin very well
·         It doesn’t break out at all
·         Texture is smooth
·         It never leaves any oily residue so oily skin people can use this night cream
·         Great ingredients list

·         Packaging is quite heavy and not travel friendly
·         Tub packaging can be a hygiene issue

Overall I am really happy with this night cream as it helped me a lot to remove my tan and brighten up my face with improved texture. I am in love with this cream and will continue to use this. I will definitely repurchase it after finishing this tub.

4.9/5(.1 is deducted for the tub packaging)

That’s all for today lovelies!!
